About Us
Hataitai After School Care Inc (HASCI) is operated as a not for profit incorporated society.  A Programme Manager covers the day to day running of the programme along with our wonderful HASCI team.  A committee of volunteer parents is in place to provide the necessary oversight and support required to ensure that the programme is well run and successful in every aspect.

We provide a safe and caring environment for your children that is also inclusive and engaging. While they are here, your children will enjoy creative activities where they can express themselves, exercise, relax, and have fun.

On a normal school day, the service will commence with a light afternoon tea that is followed by a combination of scheduled activities and free play. We utilise the school grounds in outdoor play and provide indoor activities such as arts and crafts, board games and movies (wet days only).
Our after-school programme is available for children at Hataitai School and can be used on a regular or casual basis.

In addition to our term-time after school programme, we also offer a school holiday programme run by the HASCI team. Your children will enjoy a variety of themed daily activities and excursion in a safe and caring environment.  Our holiday programme is open to all.

HASCI Website
We are very excited to announce our new HASCI website is now live!

Through this website you will be able to able access information relating to HASCI, view holiday programme flyers, enrol and book online via links to AimyPlus.  The website is a work in progress, with further information still being added.

Please visit us at:      www.hasci.co.nz

Operating Hours
The after-school care programme operates from 3:00pm to 5:45 pm, Monday to Friday on normal school days only (i.e. when children are in attendance at school)

The HASCI school holiday programme runs from 8.30am – 5.30pm over school holiday periods.  Dates of operation for school holiday programmes will be advised in advance and may only apply to select dates over a holiday period.

After school and school holiday programmes will not operate on weekends or public holidays.

Enrolling
From September 2020, HASCI moved to using the AimyPlus online system for all enrolments.  After school care enrolments are managed on a term by term basis.

Enrolments for school holiday programmes will be available from the time the programme is released. Booking early is encouraged to avoid disappointment as spaces fill quickly.  Full details of holiday programmes will be available via our website and advertised in the school newsletter.

Fees
HASCI can be used on a regular or casual basis. Regular bookings are considered the days enrolled for at the beginning of each term. Casual days are any days over and above those booked on a regular basis (at the start of the term) which are requested on an adhoc basis. Please note the cost of casual booking is a slightly higher rate to cover administration. The availability of casual bookings will be dependent on existing booking numbers and staffing.

Regular Bookings – After School - $18 per session / per child
Casual Bookings – After School - $20 per session / per child
Onsite Days – School Holidays - $50 per day / per child
Trip/Activity Days – School Holidays - $60 per trip day / per child
Late Fees* - $1 per minute

Late pick up fees*
Children must be picked up by 5.45pm from after school care and 5.30pm from school holiday programmes. If a child is not collected by the respective time required (the end of the session) a late pick-up fee will be incurred.

Last Minute Bookings
Bookings are essential to ensure we are meeting the correct staff-to-child ratio.  Last minute bookings may be possible dependent on existing booking numbers and staffing.  Please contact the Programme Manager to discuss last minute booking options.

Notifications of Absences
If you know that your child (or children) won’t be attending the service on a day that has been booked, please let HASCI know no later than 3pm for after school care, or prior to 9am for school holiday programmes.  Where it is possible to give more notice, this would be greatly appreciated.

Cancellations
HASCI operates as a not-for-profit organization and as such we aim to price our programme at an affordable level sufficient to cover costs. This does, however, mean we are unable to absorb costs associated with last-minute changes. For this reason, we are unable to offer credits for cancellations for regular bookings received with less than 2 weeks’ notice. There will be no credit on casual bookings. We appreciate your understanding on this point.

Regular bookings – More than 2 weeks’ notice given:     Credit offered
Regular bookings – Inside 2 weeks’ notice given:     No credit
Casual bookings - No credit

Changes
Change should be advised to the Programme Manager as soon as possible and we will do everything possible to accommodate these requests.

Children walking home alone
Some parents & caregivers allow their children to walk home from after school care unaccompanied. If walking home is a regular arrangement for a child over 8 years old, parents must fill in and sign the “permission to walk home” form (available on the HASCI website, or by request from HASCI staff).  Children will not be able to walk home on their own unless this form has been completed and returned to the HASCI team.

Contact Information
We are currently in the process of appointing a new Programme Manager. In the interim our Team Leader, Max Morris-Lee, has stepped up to the role of Acting Programme Manager and will be overseeing the daily running of our HASCI service.  Please don't hesitate to contact Max if you have any queries (casual & last-minute bookings, activities offered, food provided, policies etc).
