School Organisation
Learning Community – A group of classes that works closely together
Learning Leader- a senior member of the leadership team, responsible for oversight of a large learning community and also aspects of school wide learning
Team Leader- a member of the leadership team, responsible for leading a small group within a learning community or a curriculum team
Office Manager- the first port of call at school, the person who knows where everything and everyone is or where they should be

School Events
Assembly- the whole school gathers together to celebrate learning, sing and share
Jump Jam- a fitness programme the whole school participates in according to a timetable
Learning Celebrations- a time, often at the end of a term where a class or team shares and celebrates some of their prior learning with the rest of the school and/or the parent community
Curriculum
Literacy- reading, writing, speaking, listening, using information-including computers
Home Learning- learning students might work on at home- a separate sheet outlining the school or team expectations for home learning will be issued at the beginning of each year/term
Curriculum Integration- how we teach most of our theme and topics. Every effort is made to connect concepts across curriculum areas and between school life and out of school life so that learning makes more sense and connections for our students.
Assessment
6YN – 6 Year net- a special standardised assessment completed when a student has completed one year of schooling to identify any initial literacy concerns.
SEA School Entry Assessment completed after a student has been at school a couple of weeks to identify their beginning levels
Learning Journey a compiled record of student achievement for the year, including annotated samples of student learning
Parent Conference- teacher/s and parent/s meeting together to discuss as students learning and achievements
Student Management
Thinking Plan- a sheet students complete to help them focus their thinking on making appropriate and positive decisions
