Thank you for considering us as a potential school for your child. The Board of Trustees, the staff and I are committed to providing all of our students with a quality education that reaches the highest possible standards.
We start in our Junior Learning Community (Years 1-4), where our aim is to ensure all students attain the highest possible levels of Literacy, Numeracy and social relationship skills. This strong foundation is built upon as students progress into the Middle Learning Community (Years 5-6) using an integrated curriculum approach to teaching. In our Senior Learning Community (Years 7-8), we continue our integrated curriculum and widen the focus on inquiry and higher order learning skills.
We have a school-wide focus on the development of a high level of self management from students- both in regards to their learning and their social interactions. We also offer a wide variety of opportunities for students in cultural, physical and creative areas. Students leave Hataitai School well prepared for secondary school.
We have a philosophy of shared partnership with our parent community. Education of our students is a shared responsibility and the staff and I work hard to include parents in creating happy, stimulating learning environments in Hataitai School.
